One way that I get to know future clients prior to booking is by sending over a questionnaire to ensure that we are the best fit for each other. This questionnaire provides a place to hear their love story and hone in on who they are as a couple, and what they’re passionate about. I’ll never forget the first email I received from Alejandra! She shared that her and Adam first met at UVA through fraternity and Sorority events and were lucky enough to live close to each other in the summer to spend them together. They both come from big families and enjoy spending time with them. They love to travel, but equally enjoy a night in with Netflix. They are foodies and love trying new recipes and gardening some too! They dream of purchasing a cute fixer upper and starting a family of their own….Shall I go on? You can bet this brought a big dorky smile that wouldn’t shake because gosh I feel so blessed to work with some of the sweetest souls I know. My reply went a little something like:
“Lovers of good food, come from a big family (me too!), enjoy a night in with Netflix (I mean..who doesn’t?), have a passion for travel and want to buy a fixer upper? seriously, Y’ALL ARE MY PEOPLE. haha!”
When we met up in person for their engagement session, I felt like I had known them for years! These two were just so infectiously sweet! It was a hot and humid evening, with sprinkling on and off rain (not IDEAL), but Adam + Alejandra didn’t complain once and just smiled bright through it as they danced in the rain! ha. I couldn’t be more grateful for the wonderful clients the Lord brings my way.
I am so looking forward to photographing their wedding day in December–with these two, you JUST KNOW it will be something special! Until then, enjoy these cuties and their playful sweetheart session >>
