Summer engagement at frying pan farms, Virginia | Ryan + Jen

I know I can’t start *every* blog post by saying…I AM SO EXCITED to share this one with ya, but truly I am!! Ryan and Jen were high school sweethearts (oh you know I’m already a sucker for this story!), dated for the last 5 years, and in may Ryan got down on one knee and asked Jen to be his forever.

While dreaming up our session, we synched calendars and realized that we had ONE date to really make this work before Ryan would be headed to Texas for deployment.

The day of our session the forecast was calling for thunderstorms so we bumped our shooting time to mid-afternoon instead, determined to not let anything get in our way! I was so excited to work with Ryan and Jen but knew it was going to be a toasty one with both the time change and it already being in the 90’s!! But you know what? these two handled the heat with smiles and grace.

I continually find myself amazed at how rad my couples are. It’s like you could throw any situation at them, no matter how un-ideal the circumstance is, and they somehow shake it off with a laugh & a smile every. time.

I would be ignorant to think that this summer heat wasn’t an obstacle to shoot in. It’s hard to feel cute when your dripping in sweat (aka me the entire shoot) but Ryan & Jen made it look easy and I think these will be portraits they cherish for years to come <3 enjoy browsing through the faves!
