I photographed my first solo wedding at the age of 16, it was the most terrifying & exhilarating experience of my teenage career...
In those first few years of business I made it a point to invest in as much education as possible. That was so important to me as a growing photographer because I knew those investments had the most value to offer. And they did. Those mentors not only invested in me, but freely shared their experiences, genuinely wanting to see me soar and that is what I believe we as leaders are called to do.
Now I'm the first to admit, I don't know it all (who does?) I'm learning more with each passing day, but over the course of the last 4 years I have built a business that I'm proud of & genuinely excited about! I want to share from my experiences in hopes of seeing you soar!
I'm a passionate encourager for the "just-starting-outers", the creatively driven young dreamers, who just need a pep talk and a point in the right direction. I believe in you because I was you! I stood right where you stood, friend! And boy, would I have loved to give that 16-year-old me a sweet heart-to-heart. I would tell her that she is more then her failures or stumbles along the way. She is worthy & capable of her calling no matter how inadequate she may feel and so are you, friend!
Whether you're a client of mine, or not, my heart for creating this guide was to help any family, couple, or individual prepare for their session WELL! We're going to break it NICE & SIMPLE with some easy to implement steps I share with all my clients before working together that allows them to feel ready and confident to tackle their session - YOU READY!? let's go!
I was HOOKED ON disposable cameras as a kid and would ask for one every birthday! Thank you @Kodak for unearthing this love for cameras <3
At age 10 I purchased my first point & shoot neon green camera of my pre-teen dreams... shoutout to babysitting money👌🏻
My first DSLR entered the scene at age 14 and this was when everything changed from taking pictures of flowers weeds to falling in love with taking portraits of people.
At 15 I was asked to shoot a family session (my first paid gig) and honestly don't know how long it would have taken me or if I ever would have embarked on this business journey without the support from the ones who sought me out in my humble beginnings and supported me along the way...8 years have passed and its just a continual reminder of how much God is in every page of our story. every step of the way. what a ride.
