WEDDING & LIFESTYLE TRAVEL PHOTOGRAPHER BASED OUT OF SAN CLEMENTE, CA

Personal

In memory of Corey Mattison

January 22, 2015

Back in November, I  had the very special privilege of being apart of Corey and Denise wedding. Denise has always held a special place in my heart. Never before have I met a woman as kind and encouraging as her! Her sweet heart is overflowing with Jesus. It beams out of her. It’s contagious. She simply has touched my heart and so many others, that is one of the reasons why I was so excited to be her wedding photographer!! I was also really excited to get to know her husband Corey. I had heard a lot of good things about this guy but had no idea how great he was! I tell people all the time that he is the male version of Denise–So sweet and inviting, whether you had known him for 5 years or met him for 5 minutes he would make you feel like a friend and an important one at that. Saying they were, “perfect for each other” was a bit of an understatement. They were truly one. Their wedding day was such a sweet day– dear friends and family of Denise and Corey all snug in the barn to celebrate this sweet love. Boy was that barn FREEZING (thank you winter weather), yet the warmth of their love still penetrated throughout the room. It was a great evening celebrating this happy new addition to Denise and her sweet kids lives. The way Corey loved Denise and her family, made my heart so happy. He was Gods gift to their family, He was the hero they had been waiting (and praying) for!  Just a few months later on January 15th 2015  Corey Mattison was murdered while risking his life to save his family. He laid down his life for his family. He was a hero. Denise would have said that He was a hero long before he died. He loved them to death. My heart aches for Denise and her kids–Nobody should have to go through this kind of tragedy! I am thankful that our God is the God of ALL comfort and I am fervently praying for him to heal these wounds. Please continue to lift up these precious people in your prayers! if you feel led to donate to support their family, I have attached their gofundme link —>  here.   It is sad that I haven’t done their wedding post until now, but I can see there is a reason for that. I think God allowed me to forget about this post so that he could use their story for you to hear and impact you at this very moment.  Enjoy some wedding photos in memory of sweet sweet Corey. We love you Mattisons!
