I wish I could say I am a seasonal decorator, that I get really into the holiday spirit and go all out, but thats just not who I am. Do not get me wrong, I LOVE decorating (for real. so. much. love) I feel like a little kid in a candy store when I hit up West Elm, HomeGoods or Target because I love making my space feel like me!! Its like a blank canvas and I can’t get enough of it. If you go furniture shopping with me you will most likely hear me say “If I only had more space…I can’t wait for the day I buy a house to decorate” ha! A little pathetic! I know, but that is just me! The reason I don’t go all out on holidays with the Santa on the roof and all the inflatables and what not is simply because I just like my classic, everyday decor and I don’t feel the need to mix it up.
Now even though I am not huge on the holiday decorating, I do love the little things! For Autumn I love mums, hay, maybe even some dried out corn from a cornfield and PUMPKINS!!! Pumpkins are my number one go-to, I mean is it even fall if you haven’t carved one out or spray painted it metallic gold with chevron stripes? haha! I always have fun with them and with this weeks DIY Friday you will get a glimpse of how I designed my fall 2015 pumpkin and I think you’re going to love it as much as I do!!
The supplies you will need:
-Pumpkin ( I used a white one because how cute is this little guy!? I love the contrast between the white and the pink! but obviously orange works just fine)
-Tissue Paper (I bought Martha Stewarts ombre pink tissue from Michael’s)
-Scissors (for cutting out the shape you want to make with the tissue paper)
-Mod Podge (dries super fast)
-Sponge Paint Brush (once you have cut out your tissue paper dip your brush into the Mod Podge– a little will go a long way– and brush it over the tissue paper on the pumpkin)
and here is the finished product!!! 🙂 –>

*not mentioned fall essentials that I couldn’t live without: all things pumpkin desserts, warm cider, bonfires, apple picking, pumpkin patches, pretty leaves!!! fall is really a winner in every arena
