Ashley started following me shortly after her besties (who was also a HSP bride) engagement session. I’ll never forget the sweetest message to land in my inbox: “you are so real and genuine I feel like I know you and I love that. haha. You seem like the type of human that everyone needs in their life, so positive and encouraging and bright! Thank you for all the times you have unknowingly put a smile on my face from your pictures or watching your stories!”
..um, WHAT. I was at a loss for words, so taken back by her sweetness
It wasn’t just her encouraging words that got me, I just knew as soon as I emailed back and forth with Ash that she was just one of those people that got me. Like the type of client you immediately feel like sweet friends with and I loved that about her. I first had the joy of meeting Ashely and Richard at my sweet Bride Amanda’s wedding just one week before their scheduled engagement session and of course we giddily greeted one another like it was some kind of homecoming reunion– pretty sure our first words in person were “it’s about time!” hahah
The day of their shoot the forecast was calling for T-storms all evening with a slight chance of the rain letting up from 6pm-7pm (aka 1 hr to make the magic happen) so we got on our praying knees and hoped for the rain to hold off so we wouldn’t have to reschedule. As the day/hour got closer we made the decision to just go for it. Typically, I would be nervous nelly leading up to the shoot worrying about the weather condition that was completely out of my hands, but not this time. I felt such a peace and excitement. I knew it was going to be something epic! When I pulled up to the venue it was still drizzling, but I wasn’t worried. I hopped on Instagram stories to take my followers along and do a quick poll having everyone vote on their weather prediction:
#TEAMSUNSHINE or #TeamT-storms
Spoiler alert: Team Sunshine will always win. every time.
JUST WAIT UNTIL YOU SEE THE END OF THIS POST (! breathtaking !)
Richard and Ashley, I had the BEST time with you and cannot waaaait to help celebrate you on your wedding day!
Rain or Shine these two steal the show

Hannah
