ohhhh this one will tug on the heart strings. Can I just start with stating I ADORE these two. I can’t express it enough.

Ingrid works with my soon to be sister-in-law and that is where she first heard about me. I was so excited to see her name slide into my inbox inviting me to be apart of photographing their engagement shoot. We shared location ideas, outfit inspo and how we couldn’t *wait* for spring to show up so we could hopefully have cherry blossom portraits! Blossom trees were actually a top priority for us and so we did our research and scouted out all of the DC/VA area in search for the perfect spot (note this was a few weeks prior to DC’s cherry blossom peak)

If there is anything SURE about Northern Virginia weather, it’s that it is always UNPREDICTABLE. without fail.  Just to give you a little taste if you aren’t a Virginia local: this week it was 39 degrees on Tuesday and Friday was a high of 86….That is just crazy!

The week before their session we were getting a little anxious because we had a warm week and then a snow fall following the weekend which delayed all of the spring blooms we were hoping for. 1 week prior the trees were completely bare. Mere days before our session blooms started sprouting up everywhereee. no exaggeration! I had prayed desperately for these flowers because I knew how much they meant to ingrid and God was too good to us because we truly hit the jackpot in Old Town that Saturday.

They don’t come sweeter than Ingrid & Fernando and I wish I could have spent more time with them (!!) because I left that evening with such a full cup, remembering how much of a gift it is to work with clients who make your job fun and joyful. I love that this job allow me to engage with my couples, hear their stories, form a special bond with them and just be invited into their lives.  What a blessing it is and I don’t take it lightly.

Give me all the spring vibes!

um, quick question…CAN I FRAME THIS…is that too far?! hahah

I love Ingrids sweet laugh!!

there’s something about this portrait that I absolutely adore. It reminds me of an old film portrait. The slight off focus makes me love it even more. Timeless.

I’m so glad that I was able to capture this picture for Ingrid because it is a beautiful reminder of the blooms we had been anticipating and praying for

Xoxo, Hannah
