Over the last couple of years capturing elopements has quickly stolen my heart, but ever since moving to Southern California that love has skyrocketed. I think part of that may be due to how many incredible scenic locations you have to choose from! This makes any elopement, no matter how simple or grand, feel like the most epic adventure! As I’ve captured these sweet escapes I’ve gathered a few elopement tips that make a world of a difference when sharing this day with your love!
Let’s dive into 3 tips to make your elopement day sweeter ↓
🏔 The Destination Counts
Say your wedding vows at a location that matters to you! Whether that’s the place that feels like home or a sweet adventure together, choose a spot that feels all sorts of meaningful. *That* is the place you wanna be, trust me! When it’s a location that is personal to you, it will evoke even more warmth to your day and shine through in your photos!
💍 Written Vows
Photographing wedding for almost 10 years means that I’ve seen a lot of trends come and go, but one personalized detail that I’ve loved from the very start are His & Her vow books! I love my couples vows written down and read from during their ceremony. This is such a special accessory to have and to hold on your wedding day. 😉 Think about showcasing them in your home together too! They are timeless and never going out of style. 💁♀️
☀️Make it Personal
Those special touches that feel like ‘you’ showcase your personality and makes the day all the sweeter. One of my favorite examples of this was from another elopement here at Torrey Pines where my couple brought their Converse wedding day roller skates! It immediately added such a fun energy into their portraits which felt so fitting for them! (You can check out their day HERE). Remembering this day as a story of your love and nothing else? We love to see it. 🤍
One sweet day with hank + jackie!
xoxo, Hannah
