We met up at Torrey Pines State Park for Skylar and Jayson’s session and everything about this afternoon had such a cozy warmth to it. I shifted my focus in 2023 to really lean into a new approach to portrait sessions. Putting more of an emphasis on organic storytelling in a way that honors each one of my couples story’s. It’s been a core value of mine to get to know the sweet souls in front of my lens before shooting together as best as I can. I want to know their story and their unique brand of love so that I can capture them in a true organic way. For this shoot in particular, Skylar and Jayson cozied up on the beach of Torrey Pines, shared so many belly laughs and everything just felt so “core” to them. I was pretty much a fly on the wall, just capturing the essence of their love and it had my heart so full.
