Hey, you! Pull up a chair and let’s chat!

I want to share with you a little story about how I got started ! I was 15 years old (Hello, baby face!!) when I began pursuing my photography career. That next season, I got my very first gig as a wedding photographer and obviously, jumped at the opportunity!  It was both terrifying & exhilarating. When I got home that evening I remember talking to my parents and thinking, “I could really see myself doing this!” so I embarked on that rollercoaster of following my dream, as BIG and daunting as that seemed for a shy teen like me. I was shooting weddings solo at the rookie age of 16 with little to show for but a full heart and even fuller SD card. But we all know there was more to the story..

In my first few years of business I made it a point to invest in as much education as possible. That was so important to me as a growing photographer because I knew those investments had the most value to offer. And they did. Those mentors not only invested in me, but freely shared their experiences, genuinely wanting to see me soar and that is what I believe we as leaders are called to do.

Now I’m the first to admit, I don’t know it all (who does?) I’m learning more with each passing day, but over the course of the last 4 years I have built a business that I’m proud of & genuinely excited about! When I was just getting started, one thing was for sure: I had TONS of questions. And through education, trial & error, and practice I’ve found answers to those questions!

Michelangelo once said: Ancora Imparo, which means “I am still learning.” I think the moment we believe we know it all, is the moment we have proven just the opposite. There are still areas to improve in. Always more to learn. I think any seasoned business owner will throw up some praise hands in response to that!

I’ve shadowed photographers, attended workshops, coaching sessions, one-on-one mentoring, conferences, and online courses #ALLthethings

I like to think of my business like a body and education like exercise. In order for the body to be healthy it needs exercise. Likewise, your business needs exercise to produce growth.

This is just a piece of the heart behind Mentoring.. I’ve been marinating on this one for a WHILE. I knew if I was going to start offering education in this form, I wanted it to be something different..A tailor made experience to spark growth, challenge you to dig deep and propel you forward as photographer.  Nothing fills my heart more then getting to pour into fellow creatives and seeing that lightbulb moment, where it clicks. I’m an open book and LOVE getting to share all the tips + tricks I’ve learned along the way!!!
