This is my first summer living in Southern California and it has me so excited. I’ve loved learning what the changing of “seasons” look like here. Plot twist: January compared to July really isn’t all that different. There is about a 10 degree difference and a lot more tourists in town but other than that it’s pretty consistent here. I LOVE that. I’m a summer girl through and through so getting to enjoy my favorite season here for the first time has me all kinds of excited!! Bring on all the sweet summer evenings exploring new spots and capturing sweet love stories like these.

I drove home from San Diego that evening talking with a friend on the phone and they asked how my shoot went. I replied along the lines of “There are some shoots that so clearly remind you why you love what you do and this was one of them!”. It was a night that felt life-giving in so many ways. I loved getting to spend time with Carly + Zack and their sweet doggos. And I loved getting to see their playful energy and radiant love for each other. The amount of joy I left with that evening was hard to even measure. I’m so grateful for the community of humans this job has connected me to — convinced they are some of the best.

my favorite moments of this shoot?

it’s the finger gently secured in belt loop, the corgi named Cannoli & the contagious brand of joy they bring out of each other for me. Carly + Zack- big fans of you.
